Blogs for next year!

Dear Mrs. Hunt,

I believe that the blogs we did this year were very fun! I always enjoy telling people about myself, and i love to hear what other interests other people have as well. However, I am not sure if they went as smoothly as they could have. As you know, many kids simply did not care and did not do the blogs at all, or put little effort into it. Next year, it may work better if you grade the blogs according to content and how well it was written. Now i understand that you will have over 100 students, and that will be a weekly herculean task as a teacher. Maybe you could do a post every two weeks, and make it a little longer of a post to alleviate some of the stress on you as far as grading is concerned. In my mind, everyone should have to do the work assigned. Some kids shouldnt be able to get away with a post that they hardly tried on. I hope you consider my suggestion! Thanks again for a great year Mrs. Hunt! I loved the blogs and your class!

Bucket List

There are many things i want to do before i die. There are also many places i want to go to.  One of these places is British Colombia Canada.  I have always wanted to go to a mountainous city, and Vancouver, in British Colombia is perfect for this.  And, this city recently held the winter Olympics, which is another interest of mine.   Another task on bucket list is to play guitar to the insanely difficult song, “Eruption”, by Eddie Van Halen.  He is one of the most accomplished guitarists of our time, and to learn his hardest works would be amazing for me.  Lastly, i have always wanted to skydive and bungee jump, just like everyone else. Its always fun to want to do that!

Bullying

Bullying is a terrible thing in highschools everywhere. It is an epidemic that many people do not realize.  Bullying is  a very tough thing to stop. Teachers need to know what it has changed into these days.  It is not just fighting anymore.  Bullies will just mean words over and over again, and act like it never happened and it was a joke.  Teachers need to recognize when this happens.  Parents just need to help their kids when they need it. Taking matters into their own hands will only delay the inevitable, and add fuel to the bullies fire.  Kids mostly need to solve the problems on their own.  However, there are many anti-bully groups that are extremely helpful when it comes to talking about problems. Kids tend to turn to friends for help in this situation. Cyber bullying is the cowards way out. It is basically a way of insulting someone without looking at them. It does not make the situation any better. And it never goes away, which makes it a stupid idea to do in the first place.  I have seen situations where kids just insult other kids over and over and treat it like a joke, while the kid still ends up very hurt on the inside. Bullies do not see that. Other kids do not see that.  I do. And more people need to start looking at the real world and stop this terror.

5-10 Minute Crash Course

There are many things that I am skilled at, but many of these things take more than 5 minutes to learn. So i had to think of my many myriad talents that took ME 5 minutes to learn. Then i thought, the hand whistle! I am sure all of my classmates have heard it some day in class, but only a few know how to do it! It is harder than it looks as well. It is more than simply blowing air into cupped hands… One needs to get the cup perfectly right. Once that is done, they need to know where to blow the air. If these two are done correctly, you have a hand whistle! Many cool add-ons can be learned too, such as changing the pitch, and making it sound like different birds!

Grammar Concepts

Grammar has always been one of my hardest subjects, and i’m not particularly fond of it either.  I find that one of the hardest rules to remember is parts of speech. But not the easy stuff, but more in depth.  Like for instance, in pronouns, i can never remember the difference between reflexive, demonstrative, objective and other the other types. It is so confusing!  I don’t see why people have to farther classify pronouns.  I say let pronouns be pronouns!

Personal Assistant

If I had a personal for a week, I would choose Socrates.  Socrates was one of the greatest philosophizers of his time, and I would love to hear his knowledge, advice, and stories!  His ideas were way ahead of his times, and if he was a person of the 21st century, I’m sure he could still be the same great man he once was.  While I would be living my life, he would give me advice on all of my problems, help me with my homework, and propose some great new projects and ideas we could do together!  After the week is over, I am  sure Socrates would leave me with some amazing knowledge I would be able to use for the rest of my life.

Alternate Ending

Romeo and Juliet ended in way that i thought was… too sudden. I believe that the ending should be somewhere along these lines… Romeo will be in the tomb, as will Paris.  After a duel, Romeo tells Paris his situation, and Paris is kind enough to understand, and waits with him until Juliet wakes up.  In the meantime, the Montagues and Capulets both know Romeo went to the tomb, and rush straight for it. As soon as they arrive, Juliet wakes up. This causes Montague and Capulet to instantly start to yell at Romeo, Juliet, and each other. After a long quarrel, Romeo explains the situation, and Montague and Capulet realize their fault. Their hatred has resulted in Romeo and Juliet nearly killing themselves! In the end, all is well. Romeo and Juliet live happy lives, and the two families are now at peace. THE END!

Fairy Dust

If I was given a dust, when inhaled, makes me age ten years, I wouldn’t take it.  Being a kid is the most fun iv’e ever had. If I was ten years older, I would have a job and a car, and maybe even a family. That is all nice, but I would also have to worry about budgets, money, taxes, doing my jab, paying expenses, and all of that boring stuff. Being still in my teens, I have parents that are in the stage of their life to do that for my family. I don’t need to worry about it yet. People say that I am in the best years of my life right now. I would like to keep those years for as long as I can.

Childhood

My best memory of all time is definitely from when i was a kid. It was a long time ago, but i do remember parts of it. I believe it was my forth birthday… My mom took me and my friends to have a party at a local park. We had a blast! The best part though, I would have to say, was when i got to throw water balloons at my mom! My friends and I threw them at each other, and her! This is something I will never, ever forget. Love you mom!

Dinner with a side of fame

If  I could invite any three people to dinner, I would invite Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher,  NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, and movie star Harrison Ford.  These people are very special to me, as they combine my interests. I love movies, and Harrison Ford is one of my favorite actors. My favorite football team is the Chicago bears, and my favorite player on that team is Brian Urlacher. NASCAR has always been a great sport, and Jeff Gordon is my favorite driver. If I were to pick the restaurant, I would pick one of my favorites: Longhorn Steakhouse.  I would hope that the three of them would get along very well and I would get to ask them about all of their greatest moments in their careers, and indulge in my favorite heroes just for one night.
